My first experience with PVCS was after a bout of indegestion the day before. I picked up some prilosec otc and took a dose the day of my severe indegestion. The next day I took my blood pressure meds (toporol xl 25mg for high bp). I went to work and out of the blue I felt a huge pop in my chest. I felt my pulse and I could feel a pattern of beat beat pause...beat pause...beat beat beat pause. I told my boss and she called 911. No noticed skipped beats in the ambulance. They hooked me up to ekg. They monitored me and did bloodwork and xray. Cardiologist ordered a stress echo. Had trewdmill test with contrast injected...only a few PACS noted on stress test. They sent me home and said my heart was healthy and skipped beats are normal. Saw my doctor and did a 24 hour holter. Holter showed 422 PACS and 22 PVCS. less than 1% and and no other significant finding and it was totally normal. Bumped my toporol to 50mg and gave me xanax (im scared to death with the runs of more than two). I hate this and can't beleive its happening to me. I dont drugs. No caffeine or any stimulants. History of high bp since I was 15. I was athletic but work in a cube all day and need to drop 50 pounds. Im worried this will cost me my job, thr runs of multiples make me scared beyond words but im trying to be positive and hope I can find my triggers and almost stop the runs. The single bumps dont bother me really at all.

Ok so this is my second event. Basically I had all the testing done, saw a cardiologist. He bumped my meds from 25mg toporol 100mg toporol xl. I have been on it for over a week, PVCS are easily doubled. Before I had maybe 5 or 6 a day and then a run of 5-10 over a minute. Now I have about 1-2 every minute and several 4-5 trigiminy runs during the day and a few bigimeny (every other beat). Cardio called and set me up with an electrophysiologist on 04/11 (3 weeks from now) and a 30 day monitor starting this monday (03/25). I worry about this getting worse, I am scared but trying to hold it together. It's going to be a tough 3 week wait to see the EP, but I feel he will be able to reassure me or make the proper medication changes.
