I've had an EKG, 24 hr Holter Monitor, echocardiogram and blood work (all normal, although they did detect a lot of PVCs, a slightly enlarged heart & I have a mild murmur). Was basically told to live with it or do self-studies. Thanks, doc!
I know that they are definitely made worse with alcohol so I've cut that out (except for special occasions and I ALWAYS pay for my indulgence). I've also tried cutting out sugar to no avail. I don't think caffeine is a huge problem, as I only drink two cups per day, in the AM, and my PVS are usually the worst at night. I do get them after I work out but they don't bother me while I'm working out. I've also considered the possibility that I workout out too much (mainly cardio) because I teach 7 60 min. fitness cl***** per week. I do have asthma (although it was NOT the meds causing the PVCs) and I do get occasional heartburn that subsides with Tums.
Anyway, long story short...even though my blood work all came back normal, I'm thinking about trying magnesium supplements. (I've tried increasing my electrolytes and that didn't help). If magnesium doesn't work, I'll try the apple cider vinegar but I'm not sure I can stomach it.
Can anyone suggest magnesium supplements? Also, has anyone else had "normal" blood work but later found taking supplements worked?
Thanks! |
