The reason I ask, is that I have heard many times that coffee, alcohol and tea etc are diuretic in nature. Recently, I have found an elevation in ectopics and during this time I have realised that I have not been drinking enough water but still drinking a coffee.
I drink a mug or two of strong coffee first thing before going to work, and then often forget to drink any water during the day. This leads me to believe that maybe there is a link between dehydration and ectopics. I know that common belief is that the caffeine is often to blame for triggering ectopics, but I am wondering if there's more to it.
If this theory is true, it could also explain why some experience ectopics more when the weather is hot which in turn will cause a certain amount of dehydration.
Also remember, that diuretics and sweating will also upset electrolyte imbalances. |
